How To Make Chi-Chi’s Tamale Pie Recipe
A tasty blend of ground beef, cornbread, and traditional tamale flavors.

Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground beef
- 1 can of black beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can of corn, drained
- 1 can of diced tomatoes, drained
- 1 cup of cornmeal
- 1/2 cup of flour
- 1 tbsp of sugar
- 1 tsp of baking powder
- 1/2 tsp of salt
- 1/2 cup of milk
- 1/4 cup of melted butter
- 1 egg
- 1 jalapeño, seeded and minced
- 1/2 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions

Preheat oven to 375°F.

Brown ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until cooked through.

Add black beans, corn, and diced tomatoes to the skillet and stir to combine.

In a separate bowl, whisk together cornmeal, flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.

Add milk, melted butter, egg, and minced jalapeño to the bowl and stir to combine.

Spread ground beef mixture in the bottom of a greased 9-inch pie dish.

Pour cornbread batter over the top of the beef mixture, spreading it evenly to cover.

Sprinkle shredded cheddar cheese on top of the cornbread batter.

Bake for 50 minutes, or until the cornbread is golden brown and cooked through.

Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.
