How To Make Chocolate Candy Muffins

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 large egg
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¾ cup chocolate candies, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a muffin tin or line with paper muffin cups.

  2. In a large bowl, mix together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

  3. In a separate bowl, whisk buttermilk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract.

  4. Add wet ingredients to dry ingredients and mix until just combined.

  5. Spoon batter into muffin cups, filling each about ⅔ full.

  6. Sprinkle chopped chocolate candies on top of each muffin.

  7. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  8. Cool in the muffin tin for 5 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
