How To Make Pound Cake French Toast

Rich slices of pound cake are turned into French toast in this delicious recipe. This easy dish is perfect for that special weekend brunch.

  • 1pkgSara Lee Pound Cake Slices
  • 2eggs,beaten
  • ¾cupmilk
  • ½tspalmond extract
  • ½tspvanilla
  • ½tspcinnamon
  • tspsalt
  • 3tbspbutter,or margarine
  • powdered sugar,optional


  1. Whisk eggs, milk, vanilla, almond extract, ground cinnamon and salt in a medium bowl until well combined. Set aside.

  2. Melt butter in a skillet or pan on medium heat.

  3. Dip each pound cake slice into the egg mixture being sure to coat all sides and shaking off excess. Add to skillet/pan and cook on each side for 1 to 3 minutes until golden brown.

  4. Top with syrup, fruit and/or powdered sugar. ENJOY!
