How To Make Yankee Grits
This Yankee grits recipe is the ultimate breakfast. Smoky bacon and sunny eggs, mixed with fresh chives and sharp cheddar. A filling and hearty breakfast for all.

Ingredients
- 1 cup low fat milk, or water
- 2 tsp pure maple syrup
- pinch salt
- ¼ cup quick cooking grits
- 2 tbsp raisins, dried cranberries or chopped dried fruit
Instructions
- In a saucepan combine milk or water, maple syrup, and salt. Bring to a boil over high heat.
- Slowly add the grits while whisking. Then lower heat to medium.
- Cover and cook for 3 to 4 minutes or until grits has thickened. Stir occasionally.
- Let it settle for 1 minute. Sprinkle raisins or dried fruit just before serving.
