How To Make Amish Baked Oatmeal

Enjoy a fiber-rich breakfast with this baked oatmeal that brims with the sweetness of vanilla and cinnamon. Serve it with maple, cream, or fresh fruits.

Ingredients

  • cupsmilk,preferably anything but skim
  • 2large eggs
  • ½cupmaple syrup,or packed light brown sugar
  • ¼cupbutter,melted
  • tspbaking powder
  • tspvanilla extract
  • 1tspcinnamon
  • ¼tspsalt
  • 3cupsrolled oats,or quick oats

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Butter an 8×8-inch baking dish. Set aside.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together milk, eggs, maple syrup or brown sugar, butter, baking powder, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt.

  3. Mix in oats.

  4. Pour into the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.

  5. Bake in preheated oven for 30 to 40 minutes until set.

  6. Let cool slightly, then cut into squares and serve warm with fresh fruit, nuts, milk, a little cream or half and half, maple syrup or honey if desired.
