No Bake Hot Cross Buns Recipe

  • 12 dinner rolls store-bought
  • 1 stick butter softened
  • 1 orange zest
  • Dried fruit a few pieces
  • milk
  • Powdered sugar as needed
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla
  • Nuts chopped, optional


  1. Cut dinner rolls in half horizontally.

  2. Put butter, orange zest, and dried fruit in a food processor or blender. Blend until fruit is chopped and incorporated into the butter. 

  3. Spread the fruit butter on the bottom half of the dinner rolls. Cover with the top halves.

  4. Add milk to powdered sugar until thick but still pourable. Add vanilla and stir.

  5. Pour glaze over buns in a cross pattern (or just drizzle it back and forth). Sprinkle with nuts while glaze is still wet. 

  6. Let buns sit for about 15 minutes to let the glaze dry before serving.
