How To Make Homemade Bread

Skip the store and whip up your own homemade bread with this foolproof and easy-to-make recipe! It creates a completely satisfying bread everyone will love!

Serves:

Ingredients

  • cupwarm water
  • ¼cupsugar
  • tspsalt
  • 1tbspyeast
  • 5cupsall-purpose flour
  • 2tbspoil,such as olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a stand mixer add the warm water, sugar, salt, and yeast.

  2. Let the yeast proof until it bubbles for about 5 minutes.

  3. Using the dough hook, start adding the flour 1 cup at a time until the dough combines and forms a soft dough.

  4. On a floured surface knead the dough until smooth and elastic and form a ball.

  5. Add the oil to the large bowl and add the dough to the bowl and cover.

  6. Let rise for 1 to 1½ hours until it has doubled.

  7. Grease and flour 2 9×5-inch pans.

  8. Punch the dough to release the air. Lay the dough onto a flat surface and cut into 2 loaves.

  9. Roll each loaf up and place it into the loaf pans.

  10. Let it rise until it doubles for another 1 to 1½ hours.

  11. Bake in a preheated 350 degree F oven for 30 to 35 minutes or until golden brown on the tops.

  12. Remove from the oven and let cool for 10 minutes before slicing.

Recipe Notes

If there’s no stand mixer, add the ingredients to a large bowl and combine until the dough has formed and is smooth. Then proceed to knead it on a floured surface.
