How To Make Copycat Cinnabon Cinnamon Rolls Recipe

A soft, fluffy and irresistible pastry loaded with cinnamon sugar filling and topped with cream cheese frosting.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup warm milk
  • 1 tsp instant yeast
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, mix warm milk, yeast and granulated sugar. Add the egg and melted butter, mix well.
  2. Add 2 cups of flour and salt, mix until fully combined.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 5 minutes.
  4. Place the dough in an oiled bowl and cover with a towel. Let it rise for 1 hour.
  5. Combine brown sugar and cinnamon in a bowl.
  6. Roll out the dough on a floured surface and spread softened butter on top. Sprinkle the cinnamon sugar mixture evenly.
  7. Roll the dough into a log and cut into equal pieces.
  8. Grease a baking pan and place the rolls evenly in it. Let it rest for 30 minutes.
  9. Preheat oven to 350°F and bake for 25 minutes.
  10. While the rolls are baking, prepare the cream cheese frosting.
  11. In a mixing bowl, beat cream cheese, butter, powdered sugar and vanilla extract until smooth.
  12. Spread the frosting on top of the hot cinnamon rolls.
