Cooking: 10 minutes
Total: 15 minutes

Serves:

Ingredients

For Pretzels:

  • 1bagpretzel rods
  • chocolate and white candy quick
  • desired toppings and sprinkles

For Homemade Caramel Sauce:

  • 2cupsbrown sugar
  • 1cansweetened condensed milk
  • 1cuplight corn syrup
  • 1butter stick
  • 1tspvanilla

Instructions

  1. Make caramel sauce by melting the butter in a saucepan over medium heat. Add brown sugar, milk and corn syrup. Boil over medium-high heat for 5 to 6 minutes, stirring constantly. Mixture will get a thicker, a little shiny and a tad darker. Remove from heat, add vanilla and stir.

  2. Dip each pretzel in caramel and set on wax paper.

  3. While caramel is setting, melt entire tray of chocolate candy quick according to package directions.

  4. When caramel is just a tad sticky to the touch, carefully lift rod and dip in chocolate. Place on a clean sheet of wax paper to harden.

  5. Be sure to sprinkle preferred toppings immediately, before chocolate has set so that it sticks to the pretzels.

  6. For a beautiful white drizzle, wait for chocolate to harden, then melt a few squares of the white candy quick and drizzle over the top.
