This is a great appetizer made of water chestnuts and bacon that will go with any meal! I always have family members begging me to make this for the holidays! It is simple and delicious!

This incredible recipe hails from Tiki culture and it sure is worth sharing with everyone. This appetizer would definitely get anyone\’s tastebuds going with seasoned water chestnuts wrapped in bacon – it\’s simply hard to resist!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb bacon
  • 8 oz water chestnuts
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • cup brown sugar
  • ¾ cup catsup
  • 1 tbsp vinegar
  • 1 tbsp sugar

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.
  2. Cut bacon in half and wrap each water chestnut; secure with a toothpick.
  3. Place in rows on baking sheet.
  4. Bake for 25 minutes.
  5. Drain grease.
  6. Refrigerate for about 3 hours or overnight.
  7. Combine remaining ingredients and pour over bacon-wrapped water chestnuts.
  8. Bake at 350 degrees F for another 20 minutes.
  9. Serve warm.
