How To Make Calamari and Tomato Bruschetta

An Italian-inspired appetizer featuring a delicious combination of calamari, juicy tomatoes, and crunchy bruschetta.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb. calamari, cleaned and sliced
  • 4 large tomatoes, diced
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped
  • 1/4 cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 4 slices of ciabatta bread, toasted

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.

  2. Add the garlic and cook for 1 minute.

  3. Add the calamari and cook for 2-3 minutes or until it’s golden brown.

  4. Add the diced tomatoes, salt, and pepper. Cook until the tomatoes have released their juices and the mixture has thickened, about 5-7 minutes.

  5. Add the chopped basil.

  6. Spoon the calamari-tomato mixture over the toasted ciabatta bread and serve.
