How To Make Banana Bran Muffins

  • ¾cupwhole-wheat flour
  • 1cupall-purpose flour
  • 1cupwheat bran
  • 2tspbaking powder
  • ½tspbaking soda
  • ½tspcinnamon
  • ¼tspsalt
  • 1cupgolden raisins
  • 2largeeggs,room temperature
  • cuppacked light brown sugar
  • 1cupsmall bananas,mashed
  • 1cupbuttermilk
  • cupbutter,melted
  • 1tspvanilla


  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Line a muffin pan with paper liners.

  2. In a large bowl, combine whole-wheat flour, all-purpose flour, wheat bran, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon & salt. Whisk together. Stir in raisins.

  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together eggs, brown sugar, bananas, buttermilk, butter and vanilla.

  4. Create a well in the dry ingredients. Add egg mixture and stir just until combined. Do not overmix.

  5. Bake 18 to 22 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  6. Cool on a wire rack.
